Cinnamon Apples
  • 5 cups fresh apples, sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Oat Topping
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Place the sliced apples in a large bowl and mix with granulated sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until coated.
  3. Arrange the apple mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Mix the melted butter into the oat mixture until a crumbly topping forms.
  6. Distribute the crumb topping evenly over the apples.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender with bubbling juices.
  2. Allow the apple crisp to cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Let the crisp sit for about 10 minutes after baking to allow the filling to thicken slightly before serving.
