Ingredients

Salmon
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each / 170 g each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Mayonnaise and Parmesan Topping
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2–3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Garnish and Serving
  • Fresh dill sprigs for garnish
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Method

Preparation
  1. Heat the oven to 400°F / 200°C. Prepare a baking sheet or baking dish with parchment paper or foil, then lightly coat it with olive oil.
  2. Dry the salmon fillets with paper towels, season with kosher salt and black pepper, and place them on the prepared baking surface.
  3. Mix mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, Dijon mustard, and paprika in a bowl until combined.
Baking
  1. Cover each salmon fillet evenly with the mayonnaise and Parmesan mixture.
  2. Bake the topped salmon for 12–18 minutes based on fillet thickness. Broil for 1–2 minutes afterward if a more golden topping is preferred.
  3. Allow the baked salmon to rest for 3–5 minutes, then finish with fresh dill and lemon wedges before serving.

Notes

Choose medium-thickness salmon fillets for more consistent cooking, and pat the fish dry before applying the topping to help achieve better browning.
