Preparation
- Heat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly coat a loaf pan or baking dish with grease.
- Place the ground beef, cheddar cheese, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, milk, BBQ sauce, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl.
- Mix the ingredients together gently until evenly incorporated, taking care not to overwork the meat mixture.
- Move the mixture into the prepared pan and form it into an even loaf shape without pressing it too firmly.
- Coat the top of the loaf with additional BBQ sauce and add smoked paprika if desired.
Baking
- Bake the meatloaf for 40 to 60 minutes, until the center reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
- Allow the BBQ cheddar meatloaf to rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use a meat thermometer to verify doneness and let the loaf rest before cutting to help create cleaner slices.
