Preparation
- Heat the oven to 375°F / 190°C and lightly grease a loaf pan or baking dish.
- Place the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, salt, black pepper, ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a large bowl.
- Gently combine the ingredients until the mixture is evenly blended without overmixing.
- Move the meat mixture into the prepared pan and shape it into a loaf.
Glaze
- Combine the ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl to prepare the glaze.
- Coat the top of the meatloaf with half of the glaze.
Baking
- Bake the meatloaf for 45 minutes.
- Take the meatloaf from the oven and apply the remaining glaze over the surface.
- Return it to the oven and bake for 15 minutes more, until the center reaches 160°F / 71°C.
- Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use a meat thermometer to verify that the center reaches the required temperature before serving.
