Preparation
- Blot the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel, then coat them with olive oil, garlic powder, sea salt, and cracked black pepper.
Cooking
- Warm a large heavy-duty skillet over medium-high heat and place the seasoned chicken breasts in the pan. Cook for 6–7 minutes without shifting them so the surface develops a golden brown sear.
- Turn the chicken breasts over and continue cooking for another 5 minutes until the opposite side is browned.
- Shift the chicken to one side of the skillet. Add the trimmed green beans to the open area and sauté, stirring occasionally, so they absorb the pan drippings.
- Keep cooking the chicken and green beans until the chicken reaches 165°F / 74°C internally and the green beans are bright green and tender.
- Add the fresh lemon juice over the chicken and green beans, take the skillet off the heat, and allow the chicken to rest for 3 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For the best browning, make sure the chicken is thoroughly dried before seasoning and avoid filling the skillet too closely.
