Ingredients

Garlic Brown Sugar Glaze
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
Chicken
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
Garnish
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for optional garnish
Greasing
  • Nonstick spray or extra olive oil, for greasing

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly coat a baking dish with nonstick spray or olive oil.
Glaze
  1. Warm 2 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring, until fragrant but not browned.
  2. Add the brown sugar, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir until the ingredients combine into a smooth glaze.
Baking
  1. Place the chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Coat the tops and sides evenly with the garlic brown sugar glaze.
  2. Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, until the thickest part of each chicken breast reaches 165°F (74°C).
  3. For additional caramelization, broil for 2 to 3 minutes if desired, watching closely so the glaze does not burn.
Serving
  1. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, then garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired and serve.

Notes

For more even cooking, lightly pound any especially thick chicken breasts before baking.
