Ingredients

Salmon
  • 4 salmon fillets
Garlic Butter Sauce
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
Seasoning
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
Serving
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels, then season both sides with salt and black pepper.
Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt the unsalted butter.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, keeping it from browning.
  3. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet and cook for 4–5 minutes until the bottom is golden and crisp.
  4. Turn the salmon carefully and cook for another 4–5 minutes until the fish flakes easily and reaches 145°F / 63°C internally.
  5. Baste the salmon repeatedly with the garlic butter from the skillet as it cooks to help keep the fillets moist.
Resting
  1. Remove the salmon from the heat and allow it to rest for 2–3 minutes before serving.
Serving
  1. Serve the garlic butter salmon with lemon wedges and chopped fresh parsley, if using.

Notes

Dry the salmon before cooking to help achieve a better golden crust.
