Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons peanut butter or almond butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or almonds
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F / 165°C and prepare an 8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Combine honey or maple syrup, peanut butter or almond butter, and sea salt, mixing until smooth.
  3. Stir the rolled oats, chopped walnuts or almonds, and dark chocolate chips into the binder mixture until all ingredients are evenly covered.
  4. Transfer the mixture to the lined baking dish and press it firmly into a level layer.
Baking
  1. Bake the granola mixture for 18–22 minutes until the bars are set, choosing a shorter bake for a softer texture or a longer bake for a firmer texture.
  2. Allow the baked granola to cool completely before removing it from the pan and slicing into bars.

Notes

For firmer bars, chill them after cooling before slicing. Place parchment paper between layers when storing to help prevent sticking.
