Preparation
- Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides with the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Let stand for 10 minutes.
Cooking
- Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the chicken breasts for 5 to 7 minutes per side, until golden and the centers register 165°F (74°C). Transfer the chicken to a plate.
- Lower the heat to medium and melt the butter in the same skillet, scraping up the browned bits from the bottom.
- Whisk the honey and soy sauce into the butter. Maintain a gentle simmer for 2 minutes, until the glaze becomes glossy and slightly thick.
- Place the chicken breasts back in the skillet and spoon the honey butter glaze over them repeatedly until evenly coated.
- Take the skillet off the heat and allow the chicken to rest in the glaze for 2 to 3 minutes.
Serving
- Serve with parsley, lemon wedges, or red pepper flakes, if desired.
Notes
Simmer the glaze gently, as honey can burn quickly when exposed to high heat.
