Ingredients

Honey Garlic Glaze
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
Chicken
  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
Garnish
  • Sesame seeds, optional garnish
  • Sliced green onions, optional garnish
  • Red pepper flakes, optional garnish
  • Lemon wedges, optional garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Dry the chicken breasts with paper towels, then season both sides with salt and black pepper.
Cooking
  1. Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the skillet and cook for 6 to 7 minutes per side until browned and cooked through, reaching 165°F (74°C) internally. Transfer the chicken to a plate.
  3. Lower the skillet heat slightly and cook the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the honey and soy sauce to the skillet, stirring while loosening the browned bits from the pan.
  5. Simmer the sauce for 2 to 3 minutes until it becomes glossy and slightly thickened.
  6. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the glaze over them several times until evenly coated.
Serving
  1. Finish the honey garlic chicken breasts with optional sesame seeds, sliced green onions, red pepper flakes, or lemon wedges before serving.

Notes

Allow the chicken to rest briefly after cooking to help keep it juicy before serving.
