Chicken and Coating
  • 1 pound (454 grams) chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Honey Sesame Glaze
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • Green onions, chopped for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Coat the chicken breast pieces with cornstarch, then remove any excess coating.
Cooking
  1. Warm vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Place the coated chicken pieces in the skillet and cook for 5–7 minutes until golden and crispy.
  3. Combine honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a bowl and whisk until blended.
  4. Add the honey sesame sauce to the cooked chicken in the skillet.
  5. Cook the chicken with the sauce for several minutes, stirring as the glaze thickens and evenly covers the pieces.
  6. Add sesame seeds over the glazed chicken and gently mix to combine.
Serving
  1. Finish with chopped green onions and serve the honey sesame chicken hot.
