Preparation
- Flatten the chicken breasts to an even thickness with a meat mallet.
- Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Cooking
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly coat the cooking surface with olive oil.
- Grill the chicken breasts for 6–8 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 165°F / 74°C, then move the chicken away from direct heat.
- Mix the ranch dressing and minced garlic together in a small bowl until combined.
- Spread the ranch garlic mixture over the grilled chicken breasts.
- Add shredded provolone cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over each chicken breast.
- Cover the grill or place the chicken under the broiler for 2–3 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Allow the chicken to rest briefly before serving.
Notes
Use a meat thermometer to verify the chicken is fully cooked before adding the cheese topping.
