  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (for beef)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (for beef)
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
Stir-Fried Vegetables
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 zucchini, sliced
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (for vegetables)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce (for vegetables)

  • 1 cup steamed white rice

  • Sesame seeds, optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Prepare the vegetables by washing and chopping them, mince the garlic, and measure the sauce ingredients before beginning.
Cooking
  1. Warm sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, add 2 cloves minced garlic, and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook while breaking it apart until browned.
  3. Mix soy sauce, chili flakes, and brown sugar into the beef, then simmer for several minutes until the mixture is slightly glossy before removing from heat.
  4. Heat olive oil in a separate skillet over medium-high heat and cook 2 cloves minced garlic briefly until fragrant.
  5. Add mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Add broccoli florets, sliced zucchini, and sliced red bell pepper, then stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  7. Add soy sauce to the vegetables and toss to coat evenly.
Assembly
  1. Divide steamed white rice among serving bowls.
  2. Place the spicy ground beef and stir-fried vegetables over the rice in each bowl.
  3. Finish with optional toppings such as green onions, sesame seeds, sriracha, or fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

Store the rice separately from the beef and vegetables when keeping leftovers to help preserve the texture of each component.
