Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup honey (or maple syrup)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F / 175°C and line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving enough overhang to lift the finished bars out easily.
  2. Mix the rolled oats, creamy peanut butter, honey, and salt in a large bowl until the oats are thoroughly coated and the mixture holds together.
  3. Stir the chocolate chips into the oat mixture until they are spread evenly throughout.
  4. Place the mixture in the prepared baking dish and compact it into a level layer using a spatula or flat measuring cup.
Baking
  1. Bake the granola bars for 15–20 minutes, until the edges become lightly golden.
  2. Let the bars cool completely in the pan, then slice into 8 bars.

Notes

Press the mixture firmly into the pan and let the bars cool completely before slicing to help them stay intact.
